22  January ----

The entertainment industry is using social media to get a feel for certain projects. The interesting thing is on Facebook few people are active on fan pages after the initial visit. I have found the pages/sites some for authors I like to be rather hostile and I have been there done that  in the early days of X Files fandom and have little desire to revisit  these pages. I also find no reason to visit sites for future projects except periodically for updates.I mean what can you say beyond "I am looking forward to _____". That said if you are on Twitter start tweeting about Ben and wanting to see him in for example Naught For Hire or as Reacher or as Haymitch in The Hunger Games. Use #BenBrowder to draw attention----will this work? No idea but certainly can't hurt!

Still no word from Ben on the birthday fundraiser :(
If you tweet---follow @TheHungerGames and suggest Ben for Haymitch! Haymitch is a 40 or so year old role that really has a juicy part in book 3 but will feature in all the stories.

Also if you click the Amazon link waaaaay at the bottom and make holiday purchases any residuals will be donated to Olive Crest Children's Home in the name of Ben Browder Fans Worldwide.

19  November ----
Many of you (like me!) check IMDB frequently  for news of your favorites.Recently a new/old entry appeared for Ben, Martian Law. According to Ben this was a failed pilot he shot before Farscape. He would have been a regular but he never even saw a final cut.

10  November ----
Had a great time at the Farscape con this past weekend. Always great to catch up with friends and make new ones! In an unusual move Ben mentioned that Henson had been very close to acquiring funding for a Farscape project. Close enough that Brian Henson called him and told to have his agent ready for a call. The deadline for the wire transfer came and went with no money received by Henson. Ben called Brian to see how usual this was and Brian says happens all the time in the entertainment industry. He did not specify what type of project but it is known Brian Henson wants a film. My take on this is that mentioning ANYTHING not in production is out of character and I am still unsure of how to take it. Ricky Manning also spoke of it a bit and he was full of positive SyFy comments---like remember the Farscape pilot was done for FOX and what show would that have been. Very odd IMO.

San Diego Comic Con tickets go on sale 22 November at 6 am PST! With Naught For Hire having a slot I am guessing a good chance Ben will make an appearance but there is no real schedule so I suggest buying the 4 day pass for $105 USD. They can be returned up until sometime in June for a full refund.

Check out Kazbaby's LJ site for nice bit and vid link on Ben's recent appearance at the Armageddon Expo.

26 October  ----

I know we are all hoping for exciting news at the Farscape con ---- I don't know whether to take Rockne O'Bannon's twitter silence as good or bad. My wish list is a Farscape film preferably a stand alone with no baby!  I also know Ben won't say anything about any future  projects unless the ink is dry on the contract and it is ready to shoot OR has already been filmed!

Special request from mandeh and fulfilled by sylvrewolfe : Ben on Politically Incorrect.A group of CaScapers including myself were sitting behind Ben. For your consideration here.

19  September  ----

Solid rumor that Ben's webisode project, Naught For Hire, will debut at Comic Con 2011 in San Diego.Tickets will be on sale soon. I had pretty much decided last year was my last CC so now I have to rethink my summer plan of Kauai.

17  September  ----

Here is a great version of the Farscape panel from Dragon Con!

7  September  ----

Amazing weekend at Dragon Con!I want to first thank my "support  team"--Mandeh,Mav,Tarina, and Andrea for being there with tech help, steady hands,  speech writing, unjudgmental listening , and wine!   Ben participated in 4 panels. His love and devotion to Farscape and Farscape fans was evident !I "moderated" the Farscape panel. While we were waiting for the panel we met many new fans---I want to thank Bret and the 2 guys from NC who were our line enforcers! Luckily for me Ben couldn't wait to talk Farscape! There was a delay getting the non-disabled fans into the room so Ben grabbed one of the Dragon Con handler's camera and went out amongst the disabled and their guests' and started talking and taking pictures. He continued as the room began to fill and Virginia Hey and Raelee Hill joined him. I think the way he weighs his answers even after 10 years of these panels is still surprising to me. I have to say there were some really good questions which I do attribute to the fact the fandom is continually expanding. The room was almost full(only a handful of corner seats remained) which surprised the track director and the security team managing the line. One thing I have to say the Stargate fandom was having an auction in the next room for charity which as Ben said is a good thing, but one of their track organizers ran in and up to the microphone interrupting the fan asking a question to announce what the noise next door was. Our room was totally focused on the panelists and maybe some Farscape fans had heard something---haven't spoken to anyone who did though. The audience was riveted(I think we were all startled when the woman ran in we were so focused o the stage)---many of us have been to so many of these you would think it would get old yet the pride in the work that Ben conveys and the genuine answers that he, Raelee Hill, and Virginia Hey give is refreshing. Not that I don't enjoy other panels, shows etc. Farscape is just different and personally I give the credit for that to Ben who is the face of the show as it were.

Clips of all 4 of Ben's panels:
Friday Stargate
Saturday Stargate
Sunday Farscape
Monday Stargate

**there will be a longer version of the Farscape panel up later this week---with the opening few minutes and less of
the walk off the stage!

15  July ----
I had a sad message from Ben His father has passed away.He sent me a message and an obituary. He said he wasn't sure how to tell people. I offered to pass the news to the fan community if and when he wanted. Here is the reply:

I would be happy to see the Obituary distributed to any and all.  My Dad's last Doctor, Sue Prill, was a Farscape Fan and a damn fine woman... Her charity is the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol.

To read the obituary

14  July  ----

I did my best to check out 2 rumors : Ben IS planning on being at Dragon Con  (official site doesn't list him yet) and he IS planning on being at the LA Farscape Con!!

9 May ----

Ben discusses Naught for Hire here.

6 May  ----

Ben to star in and exec produce new web series--click here for details!

For those of us who weren't able to go to Australia to see Ben at The Hub's con can watch the Q and A panels on a dvd !

It appears Ben has been cast in the Tom Welling produced Hellcats. IMDB calls it Election meets Bring It On.  If done right it could be like Glee, if not well we will have to wait and see! At any rate I welcome a chance to see Ben in a non-genre role though John Crichton remains to me one of the best dramatic heroes the small screen has produced.

7  April ----

The guy in charge of the Classic American SciFi track at this year's Dragon Con has never heard of Farscape !! Facebook users go here to let him know what he is missing!

25  March ----

4  September  ----

I am at Dragon Con for the first time ---- benbrowder.net/dialogue.mp4 is some raw video.

Also be sure and keep visiting the Freeze Frame 4 Vets site. Ixchup has done a great job for a cause that is sadly mostly unspoken.

Gateworld is reporting that the producers of Ben's new film are using youtube hits to help determine whether or not to try for a theatrical release. So we can all force ourselves to watch Ben daily right? ;)

I think we need to get Ben's name out there. As I have said before I think he would be great for the film adaptation of Lee Child's novels. Paramount has announced Josh Olson will be adapting the screenplay. I think sending postcards to them suggesting Ben as Reacher couldn't hurt ;) As there are several novels it could prove to be a good franchise for them. Mr. Child wouldn't have much say in who was cast but there is a forum at his website. The novels offer a Reacher who is a very gray character---interesting,sexy and action.
